Botswana: Professional training in insurance

Botswana’s insurance companies have jointly established the Insurance Institute of Botswana (IIB).
This professional institution will provide insurance courses and organize training which aims to increase the knowledge of market practitioners.

The insurance business is growing significantly in Botswana but it is still lagging behind in terms of skilled work force.

The country counts 175 brokers, 12 non life insurers, 9 life insurers and 3 reinsurers. The insurance penetration rate is below 1%.
