- Conduct market analysis and collect data from Ministry of Agriculture and other governmental and non-governmental institutions required for the development of new products
- To develop new agriculture insurance products related to Oman Agriculture Insurance scheme and to propose product pricing based on the collected statistical data.
- To assist the COO and Management committee in securing the necessary reinsurance protection prior to launching new products and ensure that there are no reinsurance gaps.
- New product development should be within the delegated authority and in accordance with the underwriting guidelines, procedures, limits and terms and conditions of the company’ reinsurance protection.
- To prepare the training materials and conduct training for the cedants and other stakeholders for the promotion of the new agriculture insurance product.
- To be responsible for monitoring accumulation control, maximum exposure control and ensures that they are within the company’s reinsurance protection.
- In cooperation with the treaty senior underwriter and the COO, arrange for the reinsurance treaty capacity required by the local cedants and ensure it is in line with reinsurance terms.
- To keep updated on all developments in the market from all aspects, including technical or legal changes, market capacity, etc. and the effects these factors have on the success of the new product.
- To prepare action plan for the promotion and distribution of new insurance products.
- To contribute for securing the necessary approvals of the new products.
- Monitor the quality of business written by the cedants via regular meeting with underwriters, joint risk survey with cedants, cession bordereaux,
- Ensure that all ceded risk are in accordance with reinsurance terms, Oman Re’s risk appetite and agreed pricing.
- Monitor Oman Re’s risk accumulation.
- Animate the distribution channels provide them with necessary support and training to achieve their targets.
- Checks and validates market data for new products and or segments and identify new production opportunities and track competitor activity.
- Leading the development of Agriculture Insurance Products and Product Launch by providing the management guidance, analysis and recommendations.
- Studies market agriculture statistical tables and prepares marketing strategies to achieve business plan.
- Conduct sites visits in coordination with cedants to better understand the dynamics of the sector in Oman and raise farmers awareness.
- Prepare and implement budget, business plans, travel plans and activity reports.
- Coaches less experienced underwriting personnel on market conditions, competitors, relationship management, important developments in exposure, compliance or underwriting process, etc. Provides informal and formal agriculture underwriting training and development as required.
