UK motor insurance rates down for the first time in two years

Car insuranceA study by insurance aggregator Confused.com, conducted in partnership with WTW, indicates that UK motor insurance rates [4] have declined for the first time in two years.

The average annual premium in the first quarter of 2024 stood at 941 GBP (1 187 USD), against 995 GBP (1 267 USD) in the last quarter of 2023.

The sharpest quarterly drop was recorded in Northern Ireland (-8%).

However, on an annual basis (Q1 2023-Q1 2024), motor policy rates were up by 43%.
