The World Bank commits to the development of index-based agricultural insurance

A round table was held on December 15, 2016 in Douala (Cameroon) regarding index-based agricultural insurance. The meeting brought together representatives of the World Bank, the African Development Bank (AfDB), the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and several insurers and representatives of thewas Cameroonian government.

This gathering was an occasion to identify opportunities and promote index-based insurance in Cameroon, a country where 60% of the population work in the agricultural sector which accounts for nearly 20% of GDP.
