WAICA Re: Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
Waica Re is organizing the first edition of the annual Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) competition on the theme "Practical Solutions for Natural Disasters in West Africa".
According to Waica Re's General Manager, Ezekiel Abiola Ekundayo, the winner will be named Waica Re's Goodwill Ambassador for a one-year period, and will receive an award of 5000 USD.
Prizes will also be given to the second and third finalists who will respectively receive 2 000 USD and 1 000 USD. The Sierra Leonean reinsurer will support the winning project with a 100 000 USD contribution.
Besides this competition, Waica Re intends to improve the training conditions in the insurance sector. Within this framework, the company is launching several other CSR projects in the countries where it operates, namely:

Gambia | Sponsorship of the e-learning platform of the West African Insurance Institute (WAII) |
Zimbabwe | Providing support to the insurance institute with an operational vehicle. |
Tunisia | Greening and tree planting in selected schools. |
Kenya | Providing manuals to the insurance institute. |
These actions are complemented by:
- the sponsorship of five students at the West African Insurance Institute (WAII) each year since 2018
- financing the WAII student residence
- supporting a number of insurance commissions in the sub-region
