Ugur Sahin and Özlem Türeci: the researchers behind the Covid-19 vaccine

The photos of the two Turkish-German researchers have circled the world. They are the two heroes of the week. They have successfully developed a vaccine against Covid-19 that is 90% effective.

The couple founded the German biotechnology start-up BioNTech, from which the American pharmaceutical giant Pfizer acquired the patent.
