Toll of cyclone Ava: 29 deaths and 22 missing people

The human toll of the tropical cyclone Ava that his Madagascar since January 5, 2018 has reported to date 29 deaths, 22 missing people and more than 80 000 victims.

The disaster caused power cuts in several cities and paralyzed road traffic.

In March 2017, the island was already struck by cyclone Enawo that claimed the lives of 78 persons.
During the last ten years, Madagascar has experienced 45 tropical storms.
