Tokyo Olympic Games officially postponed

Originally scheduled to take place from July 24 to August 9, 2020, the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games have been officially postponed.

This decision was made following a telemeeting on March 24 2020 attended by, among others, the Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and Thomas Bach, President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

This is the first time that the modern edition of the Olympic Games has been postponed outside of a period of war. This postponement made things more difficult for insurers who issued cancellation policies to the various partners of the event: TV channels, sponsors, tour operators, etc.
