The Senegalese market has grown by 9.1% in 2010

The Senegalese insurance market has posted a turnover of 88.017 billion FCFA (181.491 million USD) in 2010 compared to 80.65 billion FCFA (179.75 million USD) in 2009, that is, a 9.1% improvement. Non-life business has reported a turnover of 68.11 billion FCFA (140.44 million USD), that is, 77% of the total market. Life insurance has totalled 23% of the overall premiums, that is, a volume of 19.9 billion FCFA (41.03 million USD). Senegal is the third largest insurance market in the CIMA zone behind Côte d’Ivoire (195.893 billion FCFA, that is 403.933 million USD) and Cameroon (128.644 billion FCFA, that is 265.564 million USD).
