The motor sector is structurally unprofitable

According to Amara Latrous, Chairman of Société Nationale d'Assurance (SAA), the motor business, which represents 65% of the Company's turnover, is structurally showing a negative balance, due mainly to the high level of loss experience, inappropriate rating and the slow compensation procedures . Official statistics report about 4,000 deaths per year. The gap between the companies' expenses and the premiums is estimated at 40%.
