The growing number of unlicensed insurance agents is worrying

The Association of Registered Insurance Agents in Nigeria (ARIAN), has publicly expressed concern about the presence on the market of more than 20 000 unlicensed insurance agents. It warns against impacts generated by the illegal activity of these agents on the entire sector.

The association urges insurers to establish relations with the sole agents fulfilling certification criteria. The number of authorized agents is currently estimated at 3 000.
