SCOR: departure of Denis Kessler

Denis KesslerFor personal reasons, Denis Kessler, CEO of the SCOR group, has decided to step down from his position as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) earlier than planned, specifically on 30 June 2021. However, D. Kessler will remain Chairman of the Group.

At its meeting held on 17 May 2021, the group's board of directors appointed Laurent Rousseau to succeed D. Kessler as CEO.

L. Rousseau, 42, is currently Deputy Chief Executive Officer of SCOR Global P&C, Chairman of SCOR Europe and a member of the group's Executive Committee. This appointment will be confirmed at the end of the Ordinary General Meeting on 30 June 2021.

It should be recalled that Benoît Ribadeau-Dumas , former director of cabinet of the Prime Minister, Edouard Philippe, was supposed to succeed D. Kessler as CEO of SCOR in 2022.

The French reinsurer however believes that for B. Ribadeau-Dumas, who has not previously held responsibilities in the insurance or reinsurance sector, the conditions are not met for him to become CEO in June 2021. Following this decision, B. Ribadeau-Dumas will leave the group.
