Medical errors: FTUSA advocates specific standards for compensation

As part of the review of the organic bill on patients' rights and medical liabiliy, the Tunisian Federation of Insurance Companies (FTUSA) has proposed the introduction of specific standards and criteria to compensate the victims of medical errors.

These compensations would be provided via a dedicated fund jointly run by the State and the private insurance companies. They should also be capped and with claims settlement deadlines not exceeding three years following the judgment date.
