Losses caused by typhoon “Ketsana” will be ‘mild' according AIR Worldwide

According to AIR Worldwide, typhoon “Ketsana” which lashed the Philippines and Vietnam at the end of September, destroying more than 2000 houses and claiming at least 500 lives, resulted in insured damages estimated at approximately 590 million USD in Vietnam and 30 million USD in the Philippines.
Natural catastrophes coverage is not included in Philippines' basic insurance policies. The typhoon landed on Japan on October 8 claiming the lives of four people and causing little damages.
