Growing Lebanese life insurance market

Lebanon's life insurance market is doing well. It reported a turnover of 517 million USD in 2018 against 499 million USD in 2017, that is an increase of 3.7%. The aggregate net profit of the 33 life insurance companies grew to 118.2 million USD, rising by 7.4% compared to the 110.1 million USD of 2017.

Five companies dominated the market and reported 85.8% of its net profits. They are Metlife Alico with 23.6%, Sogecap 19.9%, Bancassurance 17.4%, CLA 10.1%, ADIR 9.1% and Arope 5.7%.
