Eleven foreign companies licensed to operate in Burma

AutorisationThe Burmese insurance market welcomes 11 new companies increasing, thus, the number of insurers to 20.

Newcomers include:

  • 5 wholly foreign-owned companies:
    • AIA Myanmar Life Insurance Company,
    • CHUBB Life Insurance Company,
    • DAI-ICHI Life Insurance Myanmar,
    • MANULIFE Myanmar Life Insurance Company
    • Prudential Myanmar Life Insurance.
  • 3 joint-ventured life insurance companies
    • CB Life Insurance Company,
    • Capital TAIYO Life Insurance
    • Grand Guardian Nippon Life Insurance Company
  • 3 joint-ventured composite (life and general) insurance companies
    • AYA SOMPO Insurance Company,
    • Grand Guardian Tokio Marine General Insurance Company
    • KBZ MS General Insurance Companies.
