Economic crisis, the end of the tunnel for insurers?

An opinion poll by PricewaterhouseCoopers mentioned renewed optimism among insurers after years of gloom. Out of the 74 managers of insurance companies polled, 45% expect an economic recovery which would trigger for 95% of them, a 95% increase in premium income.

They were only 15% last year to share this opinion. This optimism is explained by the fact that 80% of business leaders believe that the complexity of regulation hampers growth while 60% of them manifest fears of technological changes. Only 40% of the executives polled have taken concrete steps to improve business performance in the areas of technology, innovation and data analysis.
