COVID-19 outbreak: India launches a new cover

The non-life insurer ICICI Lombard, is marketing a «COVID-19» insurance policy at a very low price. The guarantee is set at 330 USD for a premium of 2 USD. This cover only concerns Indian nationals aged between 18 and 75 who have not left the territory for three months.

In the event of a positive diagnosis for COVID-19, the insured will receive the full insured sum excluding the hospitalisation fees. This cover is subject to a 14-day quarantine period and exclude the people who fail to comply with the quarantine period and those who have travelled abroad after December 31st , 2019.

The duration of the policy is limited to one year and includes additional benefits such as medical assistance, teleconsultation and ambulance assistance.
