Cigna finalizes the sale of its group life and disability insurance

The American group Cigna has finalized the sale of its group life and disability insurance unit activities to the New York Life Insurance company for 6.3 billion USD.

Cigna's objective first announced in December 2019, is to focus on health insurance. The transaction enables New York Life Insurance to strengthen its portfolio of strategic activities with the addition of 3 000 employees and 9 million insured.
