China severely hit by natural catastrophes

In September, heavy rains led to river overflow and landslides in nine regions of the country. At least 101 people perished while economic damages are estimated at 4.25 billion USD. According to Aon Benfield, these figures account for 60% of the events that occurred in September in Asia. The continent was equally hit hard by typhoon Nesat which affected the Philippines, Vietnam and China, claiming the lives of 60 people and causing 50 million USD of insured losses in China.
