Anthem targeted by a cyber attack

The American health insurance company Anthem was victim of an act of hacking. This cyber attack resulted in the theft of data affecting 80 million people.

The second largest health insurer in the United States specified that hackers managed to steal names, birth dates, social security numbers as well as postal and email addresses of the insured. However, information regarding customers' medical records and financial data do not seem to have been hacked.

As a reminder, last summer, he US government warned the health sector's companies against possible series of cyber attacks.
