2017 results of the Ivorian insurance industry

The Association of Insurance Companies of Côte d'Ivoire (ASACI) has published the 2017 results of the Ivorian insurance industry. The turnover generated by all Ivorian insurers amounted to 324.212 billion FCFA (593.3 million USD), an increase of 6.5% from the 304.395 billion FCFA (490 million USD) recorded in 2016.

Life insurance achieved a contribution of about 45.23% of underwritings, that is 146.645 billion FCFA (268.360 million USD), an increase of 10.67% compared to 2016. It is followed by motor insurance (59.836 billion FCFA, 109, 5 million USD) and health and bodily injuries class of business (52.775 billion CFAF, 96.6 million USD).

SAHAM Assurance still tops the podium with a turnover of 52.485 billion FCFA (96.047 million USD). SUNU Life ranks second with 48,742 billion FCFA (89,197 million USD) of premiums followed by NSIA Life with 28,853 billion FCFA (52,801 million USD) of premium collections.
