Investment firm Vitruvian Partners has entered into an agreement with Helios Investment Partners to acquire a controlling stake in Africa Specialty Risks (ASR).
The value of the transaction and other financial terms have not been disclosed.
Pending necessary regulatory approvals, the deal is expected to close by the end of 2026.
ASR is an insurance and reinsurance group specializing in emerging markets. The company also operates within Lloyd’s of London through Syndicate 2454, the only syndicate dedicated exclusively to serving developing economies.
Founded in 2020 by Mikir Shah, the group has been majority-owned by Helios Investment Partners since its inception.
