It was in Sharm El Sheikh (Egypt) that the General Arab Insurance Federation (GAIF) held its 30th conference from September 1 to 4. At the end of this meeting, the presidency of the organization has been entrusted to Alaa El-Zoheiry for the next two years.
Members of the federation also made recommendations on the limitations of compensation awarded in motor third party liability insurance, the rating of Arab insurers and reinsurers, the increased insurers’ retention and capital, the supervision of intermediary functions, aid to the development of life insurance, microinsurance and takaful insurance.
