Old Mutual looking for a joint venture in China

Old Mutual, which came fourteenth in last year’s international ranking, is contemplating business prospects on the Chinese insurance market. After the opening of a sales office in Beijing last May, the insurer is seeking a local partner for a joint-venture.
The creation three years ago of joint-venture in India, and operating from the 41 offices spread out in 30 cities enabled Old Mutual to harvest more than 35 million USD in premiums in 2003.
