Micro-insurance has been launched in the Tigray region

A pilot project concerning a micro-insurance program covering cereals crops has been launched in the village of Adi Ha, located in the Tigre region. Ethiopia is particularly exposed to the risk of droughts.
The weather-forecast-based plan will be financed by Swiss Re and Oxfam America. Besides, the project benefits from the technical support of the International Research Institute for Climate and Society Studies at the Columbia University (USA).
