The MENA zone in the face of ecological threats

According to the Ecological Threat Register (ETR) report, conducted by the Institute for Economics & Peace (IEP), Sub-Saharan Africa, North Africa, the Middle East and South Asia are among the regions believed to hardly withstand ecological threats by 2050.

The report states that more than one billion people live in 31 countries that are unable to sustain the impact of environmental disasters.

Experts also warn that the countries exposed to environmental risks are expected to experience a significant population growth, particularly in Nigeria, Angola, Burkina Faso and Uganda.
