Kenya Reinsurance relies on regional contracts in oil and gas

Kenya Reinsurance is hoping to benefit from the new agreements achieved in East Africa in the field of fossil energy to boost its business. The company also hopes to position itself on other African markets with a view to face competition from global or regional reinsurers. Kenya Re has recently published its bi-annual results on June 30, 2012. After-tax profits, financial revenues and written premiums have grown respectively by 37%, 40% and 23%. The discovery of new sources of energy in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and in South Sudan will help challenge the future with more confidence.
