Kenya Re establishes a subsidiary in Abidjan

Kenya Reinsurance Corporation (Kenya Re) has turned its representative office in Abidjan into a subsidiary company. This structure is designed to cover the French-speaking countries in the region as well as those of North Africa. The Ivorian authorities require reinsurers to establish a subsidiary company or to withdraw from the market after two years of activity as a representative office. The deadline can nonetheless be extended.
