Three Egyptian insurers embarked, in November 2016, on the issuance of electronic motor insurance policies. These are Egyptian Takaful, Wethaq Insurance and Egyptian Saudi Insurance House.
This new measure makes it possible to effectively combat fraud. The technology has been tested during the months of September and October, spotting fake contracts and also triggering an approximate 20% increase in premium revenues.
