The International Finance Corporation (IFC) has acquired a 10.3% stake in the capital of the Kenyan British American Insurance Company (Britam).
The transaction, which was finalized on September 13, 2017, allows the World Bank branch, tasked with financing the private sector in emerging countries, to hold 224 187 697 common shares of Britam, along with a seat in the company’s board of directors.
