Insurance regulation is insufficient

The report drafted by the inspector Andrew Sewankambo has pointed to the shortcomings in tems of regulation. It reveals the lack of involvement of the Ugandan Insurance Commission (UIC) as regards correction of the market failures. These revelations come as a setback for the commission which was created in 1996 in order to oversee and regulate insurance. UIC delivers also licenses to the different players and is charged of raising awareness about insurance among Ugandan people.
