The insurance company Legal General Gulf Takaful B.S.C. is launched

Legal General Gulf Takaful is a joint venture stemming from the partnership between British Legal & General and Ahli United Bank (AUB). The new company will be underwriting insurance policies which will be distributed through AUB agencies in Bahrain and subsequently in other regions in the Gulf. Legal General Gulf Takaful will offer life insurance products in conformity with the sharia.
