Insurance companies are invited to review their claims management

Early December, the President of the Kenyan republic pointed out to the lack of professionalism displayed by some insurers whose delays for claims settlement have been deemed unacceptable. These delays are likely to discourage some Kenyans from underwriting insurance policies. Mwai Kibaki asked insurers to improve their claims management system. He also called for the emergence of new products and distribution methods in order to improve the penetration rate which is of 2.6%.
