Information sharing between insurance companies in East Africa

The regulatory authorities of the insurance markets in the countries of East Africa met in Bujumbura in late May 2013. During this meeting, a number of measures have been taken such as the sharing of data on cross-border insurance operations and increased cooperation.
These measures follow the signing in 2010 of a memorandum stipulating the implementation of a strategy based on data exchange and the supervision of insurance companies operating on a regional basis.
