Increase in claims in 2016

According to figures published by the Jordanian Insurance Federation (JOIF), claims paid by local insurers amounted to 446.9 million JOD (633 million USD) in 2016, up by 20% in comparison with 2015.

Motor insurance alone accounted for 46.4% of this amount, ie 207.3 million JOD (293.6 million USD). Compensation under this class of business increased by 10% in one year.
