LThe Côte d'Ivoire insurance market has reported a notable progression in 2008. The figures published by the Association des Sociétés d'Assurances de Côte d'Ivoire (ASA-CI) reflect the sector's good health.
In 2008, the turnover of non life insurance reached 101.04 billion FCFA (222.38 million USD), that is, a 14% increase.
The turnover of the life business amounts to 66.7 billion FCFA (146.8 million USD). The life and non life turnover has, therefore, risen from 148.6 billion FCFA (340.1 million USD) in 2007 to 167.7 billion FCFA (369.1 million USD) in 2008, that is a 13% increase.
