Generali has signed an agreement with Zurich Insurance Group for the sale of its property and casualty (P&C) insurance business in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.
Under the terms of the transaction, the operations concerned will be acquired by Zurich Insurance Europe AG and Zurich Insurance Company for 337 million EUR (389.8 million USD).
This move is part of the Italian group’s strategy to focus on its core markets where it holds a leading position.
