French insurers confronted with ransom payments

According to the Paris Prosecutor's Office, French companies are inclined to pay ransoms when they are subjected to cyberattacks.

Some insurers are accused of encouraging their policyholders to pay the ransoms demanded by cybercriminals.

According to experts, the insurer would rather pay several million euros for the ransom than several tens of millions of euros for the damage caused by the data loss.
