The FIFA creates an insurance fund

The FIFA has accepted to indemnify some clubs whose players have been injured during the football World Cup Championship in Germany 2006.

The FIFA has for the occasion put in place, for the first time, an insurance fund of 9.25 million EUR (12.21 million USD). The claims of the concerned clubs gathered within the G-14 have ignited a conflict with the FIFA.
