Deutsche Ruckversicherung is extending to the Middle East

Deutsche Ruckversicherung will begin operating in the Middle East. As of 1 January 2021, the German reinsurer will underwrite property and casualty reinsurance business in certain markets of the region. This decision confirms Deutsche Ruckversicherung's strategy to diversify its portfolio outside Europe and the Maghreb countries.

It is Tarik Aouad who will oversee the activities in the Middle East. He will report to Achim Bosch, a board member.

T. Aouad holds a master's degree in mathematics and computer science from the University of Munster (Germany) and enjoys more than 22 years of experience in reinsurance. He has mainly served as General Manager of Hannover Re Bahrain and Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Saudi Re.

A. Aouad will be based in Dusseldorf, Germany.
