Covéa to acquire AXA's reinsurance activities

Covéa might acquire AXA XL Re, AXA's Bermuda-based property and casualty reinsurance subsidiary. The investment bank Rothschild is to join the mutual group in the operation.

The value of the reinsurance entity is believed to range between 4 and 5 billion USD. No comment has been made by the two French groups.
