Authorities plans on reforming bancassurance

In an effort to reduce capital transfer abroad and to sustain the country's economic development, the authorities recommend that the insurance sector increase its retention capacity. Currently, the major handicaps hampering the sector's activity are the weak capitals, structures and investments. In 2006, the market reported a turnover of 91.45 million USD . The market has 17 companies and 50 brokers. The authorities are planning to proceed to a radical reform of the sector and to the institution of bancassurance.
