Alternative energies and insurance

The eighth Abu Dhabi annual conference held in October was dedicated to the insurance of alternative energies in Gulf States. These countries, which extract 20.6% of the world’s oil production and 8.4% of natural gas, are considering future solutions including solar and nuclear energies.
As regards nuclear energy, the authorities are planning to follow the example of the insurance pools set up in Europe or in America. In Egypt, the current nuclear pool is cooperating with the federation in order to establish an insurance policy similar to the one in use on the English market.
