Allianz Jio Reinsurance and Kiwi General Insurance granted approval to operate in India

The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) has granted approval to Allianz Jio Reinsurance and Kiwi General Insurance to operate in India.

Allianz Jio Reinsurance is a 50/50 joint venture established in September 2025 by India's Jio Financial Services Limited and Allianz through its subsidiary Allianz Europe.

Kiwi General Insurance is a new non-life insurance company co-founded by Neelesh Garg, former CEO and Managing Director of Tata AIG General Insurance, and private equity firm West Bridge.
